Essentials of Life Holistic Enrichment Center is an Ohio nonprofit church.
We gather with the purpose of expanding our understanding of God's healing Power and of applying this understanding toward healing ourselves and the world.
We join together as an interspiritual church, holding religious freedom as sacred. Our common thread is our belief in the Healing Power inherent in all of life. We refer to this Power as God, taking care not to infringe upon anyone's right to view God according to their own individual beliefs.
We worship together in the Spirit of Truth, Love and Harmony. We welcome into our fellowship all peaceful seekers of Wisdom and Light. We open ourselves to the ever-unfolding awareness of the presence of God in all aspects of life.
Rev. Dr. Jody Evans has carried this vision since childhood, embarking upon years of study and practice. She made a vow to use her experience for good, no matter the challenge involved. She is our Senior Minister and the President of our Board of Directors. She takes the approach that Spirit, Mind and Body are intricately woven together as one, and each must be addressed in order for healing to be complete. She further believes in the importance of allowing Spirit to be the guiding force. That's why we are formed as a church. We view the work we do as being holy and sacred, under the direction of God.
Jody is an animal lover, a vegan, a doctor of naturopathy and an ordained interspiritual minister. She has a well-rounded background in holistic services, including work as a nurse's aid, family and child development specialist, youth leader, addictions professional, crisis intervention specialist, counselor and social work assistant.
Additionally, Jody has written three books to date, "God's Gifts of Healing: The Essentials of Life," "Mending Broken Dreams: Spiritual Healing After Abuse," and "Raw Kid Power: How to Develop Your Child's Super Powers through the Use of Raw Plant-Based Nutrition."
An ordained minister and Certified Natural Health Professional, Dean Evans is the Vice President of our Board of Directors. He is our gracious host.
Dean is very dedicated to our mission. We are extremely grateful to him for all the hard work he invests and for inviting us to share in holy stewardship of this sacred land and the animals to whom it is home.
Essentials of Life Holistic Enrichment Center is an independent home-based interspiritual church. Dean and Jody Evans are our hosts. The Little Church in the Barn in Hartville and Evans Heaven Farm Animal Sanctuary and Wildlife Habitat in Marlboro Township are the private property of the Evans family, who have extended their hospitality to us. You are welcome to visit with an appointment or at one of our scheduled events.
We are very proud of our Leadership Team!
In addition to Reverends Dean and Jody Evans, we are extremely grateful to have Rev. Holly Rowley as an associate minister with us. Holly is a graduate of One Spirit Interfaith Ministry in New York and is an absolutely wonderful, wonderful minister!
Rev. Holly served as our Worship Services Director for two years before moving to Boston. We're so happy she is able to return periodically to lead a service or workshop for us, in addition to remaining one of our key advisors.
Rev. Holly has a wonderful healing energy, using aromatherapy, Reiki and Shamanic healing practices to assist others on their healing journeys.
Kim Castle is another member of our ministerial team, soon to be ordained. She is a wonderful teacher, healer, listener and friend. She is a minister in the truest sense of the word.
Kim is an accomplished Reiki master and also has a strong social work background, previously licensed in Mississippi. She is gifted in community service work, counseling and chaplaincy work.
Having been with us since 2005, Kim is our official historian. She is a very cherished advisor and member of our board of directors. She has been a real blessing to us, both through long distance efforts and by traveling from her home in Mississippi to work on special projects with us. Her contributions have been immeasurable and her insight nothing short of divine!
We are very pleased and excited to have Kim and Holly each working on different aspects of our distance program, still in development.
In addition to our Ministerial Team members, the Leadership Team is comprised of our Board of Directors, Advisory Panel, Apprentices, Interns and Volunteers. We are very grateful to each and every one! We will be posting personal notes of gratitude soon. We currently have close to 30 members on our Leadership Team!
